HeadStrong Training® was founded by Lisa Jones – an award-winning, science driven, fact-based therapist, coach and passionate trainer who believes that prevention is better than intervention.
She founded HeadStrong Training® as a vehicle to teach others the importance of resilience and emotional wellbeing and feels strongly that people should be equipped with essential skills to confidently manage the stresses in life.
Lisa works in both the corporate and education sector (HeadStrong Training in Education) teaching others the importance of brain health, resilience, stress management and emotional wellbeing.
Lisa is a qualified and registered Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Health Coach registered with The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) including their Coaching and Children and Young People’s Divisions. She is also a senior accredited member of The National Counselling Society and The Association for Coaching.
After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy, Lisa went on to work with adults to overcome addiction and mental health issues. Having experienced chronic ill health for many years, Lisa developed a keen interest in brain health and the mind-body connection. Lisa was fascinated by how our minds can influence our wellbeing and vice versa. After overcoming her own health issues, she then specialised in the field of chronic ill health and stress.
Lisa also went on to certify in Applied Neuroscience and Brain Health and Women’s Health and Neurobiology. Further qualifications include:
HeadStrong Training in Education was co- founded by Lisa Jones and Veronika Chidemo, a teacher & former Senior Leader in Pastoral Care, Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Lisa and Veronika are two people who are passionate about an integrative whole school approach to Mental Health and Wellbeing in Education, which places equal importance on staff and student wellbeing.
We believe in the power of prevention by advocating for and supporting a culture of wellbeing in schools. We aim to promote mental health and wellbeing awareness, leadership and strategy in a safe environment that allows staff and students to build resilience and manage life’s challenges effectively so call can flourish.
Before Veronika became a teacher, she worked in Child Protection for the Police, where her passion for Safeguarding and its role in Education was born.
Veronika is a School Mental Health Leadership Consultant bringing a wealth of experience from her previous role as Assistant Head (Pastoral Care and Wellbeing) and Designated Senior Mental Health Lead at an Independent Day and Boarding School. Veronika is also a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, delivering workshops to education staff, governors, and parents.
Veronika has led multiple whole school pastoral and wellbeing initiatives including implementing and driving safeguarding systems and a culture of mental health awareness that anticipate, monitor and enhance students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and progress, allowing for early intervention.
