Youth mental health awareness for parents

1 in 6 children have a diagnoseable mental health condition (NHS Digital)

As a parent, carer or guardian, you want to do what you can to help and there is nothing worse than feeling helpless or powerless to make a change.

We believe that everyone should have access to basic mental health awareness training so that it takes away some of that fear, stigma and feeling of helplessness.

If you would like to have more understanding of the challenges that can affect young people’s mental health and to develop skills to support them, please join us on out next Youth Mental Health Awareness Course.

This course will be run and facilitated by Veronika who has years of experience from working in Child Protection and then in Education as Assistant Head (Pastoral) and Designated Mental Health Lead.

Course aims:

  • Provide a basic understanding of some common mental health issues and how they can affect young people.
  • Skills to communicate more effectively with  young people living with mental health issues.
  • An understanding of how to support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their experiences.

This is a four hour online course that will be delivered in two separate sessions.
